Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) that binds anterior-pituitary GHRH receptors to prompt endogenous GH release. An N-terminal hexenoyl modification extends its half-life and resists enzymatic breakdown, and it is widely used to study pulsatile GH secretion and its metabolic downstream effects.
